Time Reversed with Chafa Ghaddar
After examining different historical and contemporary models for palimpsests, this workshop guides participants through a journey intervening on scripted material of their choice. Inviting experimentation with writing, painting, tracing, and drawing, the workshop proposes an alternative way of experiencing artistic practice, content and paper.

Chafa Ghaddar (b. 1986) is an artist born in Lebanon and is currently based in Dubai. She graduated in Fine Arts from the Lebanese Academy of Fine Arts (ALBA) in Beirut and later attended an intensive course in fresco and traditional painting techniques in Florence, Italy. She has since then been developing a freelance career in wall painting and surface finishing where in which she tries to merge the practice of decorative painting with contemporary art. In her artistic projects, Ghaddar attempts to merge natural painting techniques in contemporary practices such as exploring Fresco with media, some of which are photography and site-specific installations. She has participated in several collective art exhibitions and executed murals in residential and hospitality spaces. In November 2014, Ghaddar was awarded the Boghossian Art Prize for painting.
