STORYTELLING | 'Folktales: Festival of Tales and Music'

  • Dar El Nimer for Arts and Culture Clemenceau Bayrut, Beirut Governorate Lebanon (map)

Folktales are works of literature par excellence which are transmitted orally and therefore polished through this transmission. They make up a significant part of the oral histories of societies and nations and thus comes the importance of preserving folktales to transmit them through generations.

The folktales project for this year is organised by Assabil Association and funded by Taawon and Kamal Al-Azar Tunis.

This project aims at preserving oral history, especially folktales, and diffusing them through organising storytelling performances by storytellers from Lebanon, Egypt and Palestine.
