The Baalbeck Festival opens in July with a concert entitled ‘Baalbeck Remembers Oum Kalthoum’, a tribute from the festival’s organising committee to the ‘Star of the East’ who sang at the ruins of the city in 1966, 1968 and 1970. In this occasion, Dar Samaa' chronicles Oum Kalthoum’s career in Lebanon and showcases selected excerpts from her six concerts at Baalbeck.
