Alcântara Animation with YAP

In the framework of ‘Alcântara: The Travels of Brazilian Emperor Dom Pedro II to the Arab World’ exhibition at Dar El-Nimer, the Youth Animation Platform will carry out two animation workshops that will explore notions of travel, discovery, immigration whilst bridging two cultures inspired by Dom Pedro II’s travels in the region.

Participants will take an in-depth tour of the exhibition, listen to stories of Dom Pedro II’s travels, study the exhibited material and draw inspirations for their short-animated films.

Young talents are then invited to learn about animation as a craft and a tool to tell stories, and express oneself. Brainstorming, research and writing stories will be followed by sessions of team work to create all elements required to make short clips that will be part of the exhibition.
