  • Dar El Nimer for Arts and Culture (map)

In a tender homage to friendship, loss, and hope, 'Raseef Beirut' unveils a moving narrative that crosses borders and resonates with all who have experienced love and loss.

Directed by Farah Al-Hashem, this cinematic declaration of affection artfully intertwines the strands of memory and yearning, providing a glimpse into the deep connection shared between friends amidst the chaos of war.

At its essence, 'Raseef Beirut' is a heartfelt homage to the late journalist Issam Abdallah, whose tragic death in an Israeli air raid on October 13, 2023, shattered the lives of those who were close to him.

Farah, a close friend of Issam, pours her emotions into her diary and their correspondence.

Set against the backdrop of Palestine's quest for freedom and the heartbreaking realities of Al-Aqsa and Gaza, Beirut emerges as a silent observer, recounting its tale of grief and strength.

This film honours Issam's memory and celebrates the remarkable individual he was, ensuring that his light continues to shine brightly in our hearts and minds.

Duration: 1h 25mins.
Language: Arabic with English subtitles.
