The Last Friday by Yahya Alabdallah
Youssef, a taxi driver, living in Amman, loses almost everything important in his life. His former wife takes custody of their son and remarries a wealthy man, while Youssef retires in a small bare apartment. He discovers that he has to undergo a surgical operation with no money to pay for it. This film is a sober tale, set in Amman, of a marginalised man, a compulsive gambler, who is struggling to survive and making the best out of a difficult life.
This screening is part of the Jordanian Film Month at Dar El-Nimer, in partnership with The Royal Film Commission Jordan - RFC.
