ALA.NI

In collaboration with the British Council British Council in Lebanon,Dar El-Nimer and Liban Jazz present an encounter with ALA.NI.

7PM to 8PM:
Open to the public
A conversation with London-born singer - ALA.NI will take place at Dar El-Nimer to discover the artist's journey, choices and voice. The talk wil be open to the public and moderated by Pierre Abi Saab (Al-Akhbar) and Karim Ghattas (Liban Jazz).

8:30 PM to 9:30 PM:
Workshop with musicians
In a workshop at Dar El Nimer, ALA.NI will be exchanging and discussing with artists from the local scene her musical journey and personal methods of management, production and image control. She will also be commenting on their ideas and works with the aim to create a network for artistic, cultural and musical exchange.

ALA.NI is a self made artist. She composes and writes her lyrics, as well as directing her videos and managing herself.
One could compare ALA.NI to a contemporary Billie Holliday; and argue that her vocals are as searing as Minnie Riperton. She describes her music as (something she doesn't find easy) "dark Disney".
