My Dear lamis by Mario Rizzi
In the framework of the public program of 'The Art of Childhood' exhibition, Dar El-Nimer for Arts and Culture and the Ghassan Kanafani Cultural Foundation invite you to 'My Dear Lamis', a performance directed by Mario Rizzi.
My Dear Lamis is a multimedia performative event based on Ghassan Kanafani's The Little Lantern, conceived, filmed and directed by Mario Rizzi, performed by Elyssa Skaff, in collaboration with the children and teachers of the Ghassan Kanafani Cultural Foundation Center in Burj El Barajneh Camp for Palestinian Refugees in Beirut and Youmna Moacdieh.
Mario Rizzi is an Italian artist, whose work focuses on identity and belonging, oral history and collective memories and was shown in art institutions such as Al Ma’mal Foundation in Jerusalem; MoMA PS1 in New York; Tate Modern in London; Taipei, Istanbul and Sydney Biennales. In 2018, Rizzi won the Italian Council Award; in 2005, the Best Artist Prize at Sharjah Biennial. His films were selected by Berlin, Ankara and Dubai Film Festivals and are in permanent collections including MAXXI Museum in Rome and MoMA in New York.
