Milk, Carnation and a Godly Song - Nigol Bezjian

Dedicated to the poet Daniel Varoujan, this film is the longest Armenian documentary film ever made. By examining his poetry, the film is an attempt to understand the evolution of Armenian intellectual, literary and spiritual history from pagan times to the present day. The film proves the endurance of Varoujan's words in defiance of time, languages and geography..

Born in 1955 in Aleppo, Syria, Nigol Bazjian grew up in Lebanon before moving to the USA where he studied cinema at the School of Visual Arts in NYC and UCLA. He is currently based in Lebanon, where he has produced and directed TV programs as well as films. He is a co-winner of the 2015 Venice Biennale Golden Lion Award.
