Looking for the Truth

The exhibition concludes a photojournalism and documentary photography-training program held by Dar Al Mussawir and Thomson Foundation, in collaboration with the British Council.
Fifteen photographers from Lebanon, Palestine, Syria, and Yemen developed their photo stories over two intensive trainings held between April and July 2018 in Beirut. They generated work for this exhibition under the theme of heritage reflecting on their communities, showing the cultural and artistic diversity and tackling issues around complex identities, especially in times of conflict and post conflict.

Besides improving their photojournalism skills, the program worked with the participants on building confidence, gaining access to new international journalistic markets, and documenting change in communities with harsh conditions focusing on ethical practices and safety in conflict zones.
In addition to that, the participants were exposed to technical knowledge and practices in photography, storytelling and entrepreneurship through face-to-face workshops and online mentoring.

Exhibition moves to Dar Al Mussawir on July 16 and continues until July 27.
