In the Shadow of the City by Jean Chamoun

The film recounts the story of Rami from south Lebanon, he was pushed to immigrate from his village at the beginning of the civil war, because of the Israeli bombing. Rami lives his experience in the city facing the irrationality of war.

This film is screened in the framework of the Jean Chamoun month at Dar El-Nimer, organised in partnership with Nadi Lekol Nas.

Jean Chamoun is among the most prominent Lebanese directors who are devoted to documentary cinema and human causes. Chamoun belongs to a generation of filmmakers who created a dramatic change in the pathway of cinema in Lebanon and whose rise occurred with the start of the Lebanese Civil War. He directed and produced with Mai Masri several films which won many international prizes and were aired on more than a hundred television channels around the world.
