A Citizen, a Detective and a Thief by Daoud Abdel Sayed
Salim's car is stolen in front of his house. When he goes to report the theft, a police detective who used to observe him as a university student recognises him, and the two become friends.
Daoud Abdel Sayed is an Egyptian director and screenwriter. He obtained a bachelor's degree in film directing from the Higher Film Institute of Cairo in 1967. As a child, Abdel Sayed wanted to become a journalist rather than a filmmaker. He started his career as an assistant director in some films such as 'The Land' by Youssef Chahine and 'The Man Who Lost His Shadow' by Kamal El-Shaikh. His passion for observing the city and its people pushed him to make many documentaries. Later, he started making narrative features which marked him as one of the most prominent Egyptian filmmakers.
