3000 Nights - Mai Masri
Dar El-Nimer for Art and Culture invites you to the launch of the DVD film "3000 Nights" and screening of a short backstage documentary, followed by a discussion with director Mai Masri and producer Sabine Sidawi.
DVD "3000 Nights" is subtitled in five languages (English, Arabic, French, Spanish, and Italian), and includes special features including backstage, trailer, and filmmaking documentary.
The film tells the story of a newly married Palestinian teacher who is arrested on trumped-up charges and imprisoned in an Israeli prison, where she gives birth to her first child and struggles to raise him and maintain a glimmer of hope.
"3000 Nights" is inspired by the true stories of Palestinian women prisoners and filmed in a real prison starring Maisa Abdel Hadi and Nadira Omran. The film won more than 24 international awards and was nominated to represent Palestine at the Golden Globes and Jordan at the Academy Awards for Best Foreign Film in 2017.
