WORKSHOP | 'Dig it Out' with Museolab'

Archaeology is the study of material ancient human remains. During this workshop, which is organised by MuseoLab', participants will have the chance to discover archaeology through interactive, hands-on activities:

1st Activity: Archaeological Field Technician
Become an archaeologist for a day and dig out a reconstitution of an archaeological site.

2nd Activity: Prehistorian
Bring the unearthed artefacts to the laboratory and work side by side with a prehistorian to study the prehistoric remains, such as flint tools, found during the excavation.

3rd Activity: Archaeozoologist
Become an archaeozoologist assistant for a day and discover which animals used to live on the excavated site.

MuseoLab' is a Lebanese scientific youth organisation, founded in 2017, by two archaeologists specialised in public engagement and informal education: Nelly Abboud and Jwana Chahoud. MuseoLab’ aims to promote the history of Lebanon and to raise awareness about the importance of the preservation of Lebanese cultural heritage. To reach that end, MuseoLab’ organises educational workshops in schools, universities, museums, galleries, municipalities, natural and archaeological sites, and many more.

Dig It Out is a one-day workshop that is repeated on 4 different Saturdays:
