A conversation exploring Dr Salman Abu Sitta's life's work on documenting and mapping Palestine, past and present, and on demonstrating the feasibility of Palestinian return. The conversation will also build on the themes raised in the Visualizing Palestine-curated exhibition A National Monument, including the possibilities offered by new mapping technologies and visual communication tools. The conversation will conclude with an audience Q&A.

Dr. Salman Abu Sitta
 Dr. Salman Abu Sitta was born in 1937 in Ma‘in Abu Sitta, in the Beersheba district of mandate Palestine. An engineer by profession, he is best known for his cartographic work on Palestine and his work on the Palestinian Right of Return. He is the author of six books and over 300 articles and papers on Palestine, including The Atlas of Palestine, 1917–1966 (2010). He is the founder and president of the Palestine Land Society.
 
Ahmad Barclay
 A partner with Visualizing Palestine since its founding in 2012, Ahmad is an architect, visual communicator and product designer. He is actively engaged in a variety of projects involving data visualisation, visual storytelling and learning through play, and has facilitated courses and workshops based on his practices in cities including Beirut, Amman, London and Bangalore. Ahmad is also co-founder of My Toy Town, a slot-together wooden play system for kids.
