SCREENING | 'Lebanon, the Land of Honey and Incense'' by Maroun Baghdadi

  • Dar El Nimer for Arts and Culture Clemenceau Bayrut, Beirut Governorate Lebanon (map)

Initially commissioned in the framework of a television series on Doctors Without Borders (Médecins sans Frontières), the film recounts stories of the Civil War from the experience of two French doctors. As the lives of fighters and civilians are woven, the causes they defend, the dreams they carry and the tragedy of war, the boundaries between victims and tormentors become blurred. Lebanon, the Land of Honey and Incense was noteworthy in the television series and it seems to have inspired Baghdadi’s other feature, Out of Life, completed a few years later.
