Wadad was nine years old when she started performing live on radio. Her voice is heard almost every day on Arab radio stations, but for several reasons, she was pushed towards anonymity. The film is a poetic essay and a musical journey which attempts, using events in Wadad’s life, to portray a diva and her decline.
The screening will be followed by a Q&A with director Shirin Abu Shaqra.
